Mey Green was born under the sign of Pisces on February 27th; and from that day she has followed her dream. It is said that she has a special talent for music; and her voice can caress heartrending registers with no apparent difficulty.
Creative, determined and tenacious, Mey surprised everybody again with dance music in 2013, when her song “Wanna dance” got to number 1 on the most important radio stations in Spain.
Her great versatility makes her feel comfortable in several musical styles. Her dedication to music has made her a versatile artist; singer, musician, composer, actress and businesswoman, Mey has proved in each of these areas that she was born with something special.
You must have something different when, being just a child, Alejandro Sanz, one of the most popular Spanish musicians, invites you to sing with him in his first major concert at Real Madrid’s sports pavilion. It was then that Mey realized that she was born to dedicate her life to music.
Throughout her career, Mey has successfully participated in important musical tv programs. Becoming the winner of “Karaoke de Telecinco” gave her the great chance of being part of an album featuring Miguel Ríos, Marta Sánchez, Sergio Dalma, Rocío Jurado and Manolo Escobar, among others. In 2008 she was considered as the best singer of Madrid, after winning “Madrid Superstar”; and several months later, we saw her in “X Factor”, where she was one of the finalists.
But Mey has not just participated in musical contests. Mey has also been part of tv shows such as “Quédate conmigo”, “Noche de Fiesta” o “Cruz y Raya”; and recently, she has been collaborating in the successful program “El Hormiguero”, (Antena 3 Tv) on several occasions.
After collaborating with important producers, such as Alejandro Asensi or J.C Paz y Puente; and also working as a vocal coach for the great composer and song writer Juan Carlos Calderón, Mey Green got the starring role in very important musicals in Spain; “We will rock you”, “El diario de Ana Frank”, “La vuelta al mundo de Willy Fog”, “Pretty Woman” and “La cena de los malditos” are some of the shows where Mey has left her mark.
Between 2012 and 2014 Mey is chosen as backing singer in the Eurovision Song Contest, supporting Pastora Soler (2012 – Baku, Azerbaijan); El Sueño de Morfeo (2013 – Malmö, Sweden), and Ruth Lorenzo (2014 - Copenhagen, Denmark).
In 2013 such a hard work results successful and Mey came to prominence with her song “Wanna Dance”, that sounds on the best dance music radio stations; and it also reaches the endurance record in the first positions of the chart lists.
Since spring 2013, Mey promotes “Wanna Dance” all over the country. In summer, Mey takes part in music festivals all along the Spanish coast, sharing stage with national singers, such as Wally López, Carlos Jean, José Manuel Duro, J.L García, Dani Moreno “El Gallo”, Jose AM, Soraya Arnelas, Edurne or Auryn.
2013 will be also a year for business; Mey starts up with an aesthetics company. But after a year she decides to sell this business and she devoted herself fully to her career, not only as a singer but also managing events for companies.
On May 2015 a new professional challenge comes and Mey becomes music manager and singer in Tatel, an important restaurant owned by a group of influential Spanish people, (Rafa Nadal, Pau Gasol, Rudy Fernández, Abel Matutes and Enrique Iglesias, and recently the Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. After a year and a half Mey Green stops her work as a music manager in Tatel, but she continues singing there and she is present in every opening of Tatel’s brand (Madrid, Miami, Ibiza).
2015 also will be a great year for Mey. She launches “Wanna Party”, that repeats the success of “Wanna Dance” and it got the first position in many radio stations.
The company “Century 21″ recruits Mey for singing in its events; and just one year later, she becomes ambassador and artist director for this company. Other companies where Mey collaborates are: “Komodo”, “Komosara”, “De la A a la Z”, “Grupo Star Viajes”, “Bentravel”, “Banco Santander”, or “La dehesa del Páramo”, among others.
In March 2016 Mey launches “Miracle”, together with Van Hoick, resident DJ in “Privilege Ibiza”. “Miracle” becomes the soundtrack of the summer 2016.
One year later arrives “Amor”, published by the label “Universal Music”, an exquisite production together with the Romanian composer Mihai Alexandru.
Recently Mey has released “Dancing for you” with the label “Wikolia Music”; it is something different, because the artist sings in hardstyle for the first time, now with the legendary DJ Vicente One More Time. This last work of Vicente and Mey deals with bullying and it invites people to dance as a way of escaping from a bullying situation. Furthermore, this song also belongs to a campaign against bullying that the singer and the DJ are carrying out in primary and secondary schools in Madrid, where they show the videoclip of “Dancing for you” and they speak with children and teenagers about the bullying problem.
